Getting started

How do I create my first cartoon illustration?

Open the App, tap "Choose Photo", select a clear photo of yourself (or someone who has consented to being illustrated), then tap "Transform". The App runs two steps — a cartoon stylization pass and a background-removal pass — and the final image is ready in about a minute.

What kind of photo works best?

A clear, well-lit photo where the person's face and body are fully visible works best. Solo photos with minimal background clutter produce the cleanest cartoon illustrations. Avoid heavy filters, motion blur, dark scenes, extreme angles, or very small faces in the frame.

How long does a transformation take?

About 40–90 seconds on average. The first cartoon step usually finishes quickly; the background-removal step takes the longest. You can watch the progress move through the stages on the detail screen.

Can I save the finished cartoon to my Photos?

Yes. From the detail screen, tap "Save" to add the final image to your iOS Photo Library. The App will request permission the first time you do this.

Can I share the finished cartoon?

Yes — tap "Share" on the detail screen to send it via Messages, Mail, AirDrop, or any other iOS share target.

Does the cartoon look exactly like the person in my photo?

The App tries to preserve the person's identifying features — face shape, hairstyle, hair color, skin tone, outfit, and pose — while reinterpreting them in a flat, sketchy cartoon style. Results vary: better input photos produce more recognizable outputs. Try a different photo if the first attempt doesn't come out the way you hoped.

Credits, subscriptions & credit packs

How do credits work?

Each transformation costs 1 credit (covering both the cartoon step and the background-removal step). New users start with 0 credits and need to either subscribe or buy a credit pack to use the App. If a transformation fails on our side, the App automatically refunds the credit so you can try again at no additional cost.

What subscriptions are available?

Subscription credits carry over — unused credits do not expire while you stay subscribed.

What credit packs are available?

Credit packs are one-off purchases. Once delivered, the credits are yours — they do not expire while your installation stays active.

How do I cancel my subscription?

iOS Settings → tap your name at the top → Subscriptions → Mini Cartoon → Cancel Subscription. Your access continues until the end of your billing period. (We can't cancel subscriptions for you — Apple manages this directly.)

How do I get a refund?

All purchases are processed by Apple, so refund requests must be submitted directly to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. We don't have the ability to issue refunds ourselves. If a transformation fails because of a technical error on our side, the App automatically refunds the credit so you don't lose anything.

My credits didn't refresh after renewal. What do I do?

Open the App and go to the Settings tab — this triggers a fresh sync with the App Store. If the issue persists, email us with your anonymous user ID (visible in the App's Settings screen under "About").

I purchased a subscription but it isn't showing up.

Open the App's Settings tab and tap "Restore purchases". This re-syncs your purchases from Apple. If your subscription still doesn't appear after a minute, email us with your purchase confirmation from Apple.

Can I upgrade from Weekly to Yearly?

Yes — you can switch plans at any time from iOS Settings → Subscriptions → Mini Cartoon. Apple handles the proration automatically.

Privacy & data

What happens to my photo after I upload it?

Your photo is sent to our AI provider (FAL.ai) over an encrypted connection so it can be used to generate the cartoon illustration. We do not store your photo on our own servers, and your photo is never used to train AI models. See our Privacy Policy for the full breakdown.

Do you perform facial recognition on my photo?

No. The App does not perform facial recognition, face matching, identity verification, emotion inference, age estimation, or any other biometric analysis. Your photo is only used to render a stylized cartoon illustration.

How do I delete all my data?

Email us at [email protected] with the subject "Data Deletion Request" and include your anonymous user ID (from the App's Settings → About). We'll delete all data associated with your installation within 7 business days. Note: uninstalling the App alone does not delete server-side data — you need to email us if you want everything wiped.

Do you sell my data?

No. We don't sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers. We don't run ads in the App. Our only revenue is from subscriptions and credit packs.

Troubleshooting

My generation has been stuck for more than 5 minutes.

Sometimes our AI provider experiences high load. If a generation is pending for more than 5 minutes, the App will mark it as failed and refund your credit. You can then try again. If the issue keeps happening, email us so we can investigate.

The App crashed when I tried to transform a photo.

Please email us with your iOS version, your iPhone model, and a description of what you were doing when the crash occurred. The more detail, the faster we can fix it.

"Could not load image" or similar error.

Make sure you have an active internet connection and try restarting the App. If you're on cellular, check that the App has Mobile Data permission in iOS Settings.

The Save button doesn't work.

Saving an image requires iOS Photos permission. Go to iOS Settings → Mini Cartoon → Photos and make sure "Add Photos Only" (or "All Photos") is selected.

The cartoon doesn't look like the person in my photo.

This usually happens when the input photo is unclear, poorly lit, or shows the subject from an unusual angle. Try a brighter, front-facing photo. Results can also vary between attempts — running the same photo through again sometimes produces a better match.

The Transform button is greyed out.

You need at least 1 credit to transform a photo. Tap the credit badge in the top-right to open the credits screen and buy a pack or subscribe.
