Getting started

What does Bob Haircut Filter do?

Bob Haircut Filter turns a photo of a person into a funny, viral AI prank video: a second person's hands enter frame with scissors and cut their hair live on camera, with hair falling onto their shoulders, ending in a sleek reveal of a chin-length bob haircut — while they still clearly look like themselves. Same identity, same clothing, same background, just a new haircut.

How do I generate my first video?

Open the App, tap the photo card to choose a photo from your library, then tap Generate Prank Video. Your video will be ready in a couple of minutes.

What kind of photo works best?

A clear, well-lit, front-facing photo where the face is fully visible works best. Try to avoid extremely dark scenes, heavy existing filters, sunglasses, or hats, so the AI has enough to work with.

How long does a generation take?

Usually 1–3 minutes. You can close the generation screen, background the App, or even fully quit it — the video keeps rendering on our servers, and the finished clip will be waiting for you in the My Videos tab when it's done.

Can I keep using my phone while it's generating?

Yes. Lock your phone, switch apps, or check back later — there's nothing you need to keep open. Just open Bob Haircut Filter again and check the My Videos tab.

Why doesn't the result look exactly like I imagined?

Bob Haircut Filter uses a generative AI video model — it's creative, not deterministic. The same photo can produce slightly different results on different runs.

Can I save or share the result?

Yes. On the result screen, tap Save to add it to your Photos, or Share to send it directly to Messages, TikTok, Instagram, or anywhere else.

Subscriptions and credits

How do credits work?

Each video costs 1 credit. You can get credits either through a subscription (which grants credits automatically every week) or by buying the one-time credit pack.

What subscription plans are available?

The current price of each plan is shown at the time of purchase in your local currency.

Do unused credits carry over?

Yes. If you don't use all your credits in a given week, they stay in your balance — they are never reset to zero or taken away. Your balance simply grows as long as your subscription stays active, or whenever you buy the credit pack.

Can I just buy credits without subscribing?

Yes. The credit pack (5 credits) is a one-time purchase with no auto-renewal. Purchased credits never expire.

What happens if my video fails?

Your credit is automatically refunded to your balance, and the App shows you the reason it failed right in the My Videos tab.

How do I cancel my subscription?

iOS Settings → tap your name at the top → Subscriptions → Bob Haircut Filter → Cancel Subscription. Your access continues until the end of your current billing period. We can't cancel subscriptions for you — Apple manages this directly.

How do I get a refund?

All purchases are processed by Apple, so refund requests must be submitted directly to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. We don't have the ability to issue refunds ourselves.

I subscribed or bought credits but they're not showing up in the App.

Tap Restore at the bottom of the Get Pro or Buy Credits screen. This re-syncs your purchase from Apple. If it still doesn't appear after a minute, email us with your purchase confirmation from Apple.

Privacy and data

What happens to my photo after I upload it?

Your photo is sent to our AI provider (fal.ai) over an encrypted connection so it can generate your haircut-prank video. We do not store your photo on our own servers, and it's never used to train AI models. See our Privacy Policy for the full breakdown.

Do you store the videos you generate?

The AI-generated video URL is shown in the App and also saved to your private My Videos history (tied to your anonymous user ID) so you can revisit your past videos. If you want to keep a local copy, tap Save on the result screen.

How do I delete all my data?

Email us at [email protected] with the subject "Bob Haircut Filter — Data Deletion Request". We'll delete all data associated with your installation within 7 business days. Note: uninstalling the App alone does not delete server-side data — you need to email us if you want everything wiped.

Do you sell my data?

No. We don't sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers. We don't run ads in the App. Our only revenue is from subscriptions and the credit pack.

What permissions does the App need?

Troubleshooting

My video has been "processing" for a long time.

Video generation typically takes 1–3 minutes, sometimes longer if our AI provider is under high load. You don't need to keep the App open — check back in the My Videos tab later. If it still hasn't finished after 15–20 minutes, it will be marked as failed and your credit refunded automatically.

My generation failed — why, and did I lose my credit?

Tap the failed entry in My Videos to see the specific reason. Your credit is always refunded automatically when a generation fails, no need to contact us for that.

The App crashed when I tried to generate.

Please email us with your iOS version, your iPhone model, and a description of what you were doing when the crash occurred. The more detail, the faster we can fix it.

"HTTP 4xx / HTTP 5xx" or similar error during generation.

Make sure you have an active internet connection and try restarting the App. If you're on cellular, check that the App has Mobile Data permission in iOS Settings. Transient errors from our AI provider usually resolve on a retry.

The result video won't play.

Try closing and reopening the App. Generated videos may take a few seconds to buffer on slower connections.

My saved video doesn't appear in Photos.

When you tap Save, iOS will ask for permission to add to your Photo Library the first time. Make sure you approved that permission (iOS Settings → Bob Haircut Filter → Photos). Then try saving again from the result screen.
