What does Arab Mask do?
Arab Mask is an AI photo filter. You pick a portrait photo, and the App generates a new version in which you appear wearing a traditional ornate Arab-style mask or face covering. It is a creative costume-style filter for fun and social sharing.
How do I create my first mask photo?
Open the App, tap the photo card to pick a photo from your library, then tap Create Mask. Your AI image will be ready in about 20–40 seconds.
What kind of photo works best?
A clear, well-lit portrait with the subject's face in frame produces the best results. Avoid heavy filters, sunglasses already covering the face, extreme motion blur, and already-dark scenes — the AI gets the cleanest read from a neutral portrait.
How long does a creation take?
About 20–40 seconds on average. You can close the generation screen or put the App in the background — the creation will keep running, and the result will be waiting when you come back.
Can I keep my phone free while it's generating?
Yes. You can lock your phone or switch apps during a creation. We use an iOS background task to let the generation finish. When the result is ready the App will have it waiting for you on your next open.
Why doesn't the photo look exactly like I imagined?
Arab Mask uses a generative AI model — it's creative, not deterministic. The same photo can produce slightly different results on different runs. Try again, or try a cleaner base photo, to see a different take on the scene.
Can I save the result to my Photos?
Yes. On the result screen, tap Save to Photos. The first time you do this, iOS will ask permission to add to your Photo Library.
Credits and subscriptions
How do credits work?
Every creation costs 1 credit. Credits are granted by an active Premium subscription. All purchases are managed through Apple.
Do I get free credits to try the App?
No. Arab Mask does not offer any free, starter, daily, or promotional credits. This keeps the service sustainable and lets us provide high-quality AI generation without running ads or selling data.
What does Premium include?
- Weekly Premium — Grants 10 creation credits every 7 days while the subscription is active. Auto-renews weekly until cancelled. Best for short-term heavy use.
- Monthly Premium — Grants 20 creation credits every 30 days while the subscription is active. Auto-renews monthly.
The current price of each plan is shown at the time of purchase in your local currency.
When do my Premium credits top up?
Weekly credits refill every 7 days from your first grant while the subscription is active. Monthly credits refill every 30 days. Unused credits carry over as long as the subscription stays active.
How do I cancel my subscription?
iOS Settings → tap your name at the top → Subscriptions → Arab Mask → Cancel Subscription. Your access continues until the end of your current billing period. We can't cancel subscriptions for you — Apple manages this directly.
How do I get a refund?
All purchases are processed by Apple, so refund requests must be submitted directly to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. We don't have the ability to issue refunds ourselves. If a creation fails because of a technical error on our side, we do not charge you a credit — you simply try again at no cost.
I bought something but it isn't showing up in the App.
Tap Restore at the bottom of the Premium or Credits screen. This re-syncs your purchases from Apple. If your purchase still doesn't appear after a minute, email us with your purchase confirmation from Apple.
Can I switch from Weekly to Monthly (or vice versa)?
Yes — you can switch plans at any time from iOS Settings → Subscriptions → Arab Mask. Apple handles the proration automatically.
If I cancel Premium do I keep my credits?
Any credits already granted to your balance at the time of cancellation remain in your account. You will stop receiving new refills at the next renewal date.
Privacy and data
What happens to my photo after I upload it?
Your photo is sent to our AI provider (fal.ai) over an encrypted connection so it can be used to create the mask-style result. We do not store your photo on our own servers, and your photo is never used to train AI models. See our Privacy Policy for the full breakdown.
Do you store the images you generate?
No. The AI-generated image is shown to you in the App once and is not saved on our servers. If you want to keep it, tap Save to Photos on the result screen.
How do I delete all my data?
Email us at [email protected] with the subject "Arab Mask — Data Deletion Request". We'll delete all data associated with your installation within 7 business days. Note: uninstalling the App alone does not delete server-side data — you need to email us if you want everything wiped.
Do you sell my data?
No. We don't sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers. We don't run ads in the App. Our only revenue is from Premium subscriptions.
What permissions does the App need?
- Photo Library (read): Only when you pick a photo for a creation. We use Apple's standard picker, which only hands us the single photo you selected.
- Photo Library (add): Only when you tap "Save to Photos" on a finished creation.
- Network: To talk to our backend and AI provider.
Troubleshooting
My creation has been stuck for more than a minute.
Sometimes our AI provider experiences high load. If a creation does not complete within a reasonable time, the App will mark it as failed and the credit is preserved. You can then try again. If the issue keeps happening, email us so we can investigate.
The App crashed when I tried to generate.
Please email us with your iOS version, your iPhone model, and a description of what you were doing when the crash occurred. The more detail, the faster we can fix it.
"HTTP 4xx / HTTP 5xx" or similar error during generation.
Make sure you have an active internet connection and try restarting the App. If you're on cellular, check that the App has Mobile Data permission in iOS Settings. Transient errors from our AI provider usually resolve on a retry.
The result image won't load.
Try closing and reopening the App. Generated images may take a few seconds to download on slower connections.
My saved image doesn't appear in Photos.
When you tap Save, iOS will ask for permission to add to your Photo Library the first time. Make sure you approved that permission (iOS Settings → Arab Mask → Photos). Then try saving again from the result screen.
My credit count seems wrong.
Pull down to refresh, or quit and reopen the App. Credits are synced from our backend in real time, but a spotty network can delay the update. If the count still looks wrong, email us with a rough timestamp of when the discrepancy started.
Reporting abuse
If you believe someone is using Arab Mask to create harmful content — uploading photos of people without consent, generating harassment, sexual content involving minors, impersonation, manipulated imagery intended to mislead, or any other illegal use — please report it to us immediately.
Email [email protected] with the subject "Arab Mask — Abuse Report" and as much detail as you can share. We take every report seriously and will investigate within 48 hours.
For sexual content involving minors (CSAM), we are required by law to report to the appropriate authorities and we cooperate fully with law enforcement.
